Ultramarine movie
I had no idea this CGI movie was been made and only found it for download by accident yesterday, It's written by the legendary Dan Abnett and is about a squad of new Ultramarines who answer a distress signal from a shrine world of the imperial fists, and what they find is Chaos.
Its filled with the gore and battles you would expect from a 40K story.
In my opinion this movie totally rocks and I am going to try and buy it, 10/10 for story, its just like watching a Dan Abnett novel come to life. 6/10 for the animation (its no Beowulf), but the fact it has a land speeder, heavy bolter destruction, chain saw battles and Deamons is cool, way cool.
If you love warhammer and have abit of knowledge about space marines and the 40K universe you will absolutely love this.
If not you will probably watch it thinking WTF are they talking about and read a book instead like Broken did.
I'm excited, can't wait to watch it again.

Re: Ultramarine movie
Cheers for the tip off Bayges!
Been getting deep into the Horus Heresy books, so this has come along at the right time.
Remember they scrapped a Bloodquest cgi years ago? Wonder if they used some of the old graphics.

I know I'm gonna order it today, shame no Blu-ray. Its fuckin awesome
It's really got me pumped for the new Space Marine game coming out this year, hope it ties in somehow since they are both based on Ultramarines.
Yeah Aza the Heresy books Rock, I'm about half through the Thousand sons book.

Re: Ultramarine movie
Thousands son book is good. Re-reading it after reading Prosperto which is from the Space Wolf angle. Didn't really like Prosperto until the final third when the novel finally came togeter. Not sure it if was worth having to trawl through the first third.
I have all of the heresy novels other than the two Dark Angel ones as I have been told they are really lame. Re-read most of the books at least twice. Favourite has to be Fulgrim.
Have the Raven's Flight audio book which I have yet to listen to.

Re: Ultramarine movie
I posted a similar "loved it" on a 40k forum I am a member of and got about a dozen replies of "it was crap" "obviously this guy posted this as a troll looking to start a flame war"
very surprising
anyway I still liked it and will watch it again

Nice.. main complaint was it was being grapically compared to Final Fantasy that was made 10yrs ago and therefore left wanting. I'm tipping the budget of the two films had something to do with output...
Still love the heavy bolter noise!!
Re: Ultramarine movie
Landspeeder was a win too. and the thunderhawk. and when the captain comes back and kicks some major arse.
